Yet another quick test. ###
Nearly done with the setup. Moved all my sites to a new server. TLS-ified. Changed the microblog to a subdomain. Just a few more tweaks needed. Photos are still wonky.
Testing after a domain change.
Failed in configuring a DDNS to run a home web server. I suspect a firewall hiding somewhere at Spectrum and was too lazy to poke around. Decided to keep the VPS at Linode/Akamai instead. Easier config.
Heading back to Rochester today. Planning on Hwy 14 again. Probably pick up some Spotted Cow in VIroqua for my daughter.
Met George and ME for lunch today in Beloit. Back in Madison now for dinner with my sister’s fam.
I’ve completely missed the Coldplay bandwagon.
They are playing Camp Randall tomorrow evening. Hard to find a room anywhere in town. The Terrace at the Union is more packed than usual for a Friday evening. Good thing my sister’s neighbor is letting us stay for a couple of nights.
Off to Madtown today. The scenic route awaits: US 14 through the driftless area of Wisconsin. Just beautiful.
A view of the Mississippi River from Great River Bluffs State Park near Dakota MN. Taken several years ago, but the view hasn’t changed much.
I think I’m moving my main site to a local server. It’s a single page that would reference all the various subdomains. It’d save me a few bucks a month. I need something to do in my “spare time”.
Today I’m puzzling over how to organize my various sites. Do I want to continue to maintain a photo site in addition to using the photo bits here on micro.blog? And then there’s the whole Facebook, Instagram thing which I would love to chuck into the waste bin. Pondering… Changes are likely.
Hungarian horseman with his five horse team. This guy was moving. Taken back in May just outside of Budapest.
I was briefly considering having a dry week and then I recalled that I was going to be in Madison WI this weekend with time on the Memorial Union Terrace. Maybe next week?
Oh Joy! Time to renew my driver’s license!
Love these sunglasses!
It was 90ºF that day. Not sure this was the best wardrobe choice but it fit the theme of the event.
Deckset was much easier to use than iA Presenter. The only thing easier in Presenter was that I could move slides by drag and drop. Deckset relies on an external editor for composition so that involves copy/paste.
And working on a presentation on street photography for my “exploring photography” group. Here’s another picture from that.
Making arrangements to travel to southern Wisconsin next weekend. A short drive. Also diagnosing a weird bug in the key server.
Saw “Cabaret” at the Guthrie Theater today. Always darker than expected. I may have detected echoes of “Springtime for Hitler” in it.
Moving from iA Presenter back to Deckset. iA Presenter’s “markdown” flavor is too quirky for me and the editor is barely passable. I can work far more quickly in Deckset and I can pretty much get image placement the way I want.
